Every year the family on my husband’s side draws names for Christmas gifts. We have a plethora of talent amongst us, so we decided instead of having a certain dollar amount to spend on a gift, it just has to be something handmade (rules are not strictly enforced, though, because we all know you can’t force creativity). Last Christmas I drew my mother-in-law. Thank the Lord she is an avid “pinner,” so I was able to scour her Pinterest boards for ideas.  She had several bench type ideas and I had several chairs sitting around needing a new life.  The tutorial I used is found here: http://www.anoregoncottage.com/idea-for-broken-old-chairs/.  My in-laws are about to begin an exciting new chapter in their life, and I knew my mother-in-law was wanting the all-white look for her furniture in her new home.  It was a pretty straightforward project, I love the results, and it was definitely the biggest present under the tree (which always excites me for some reason).  Anyway, enjoy the before and after pics, I know they are everyone’s favorites.

The finished product- so happy with how she turned out!
